advise all owners of New Zealand fishing boats by the most appropriate means, of the safety benefits of voluntarily attending FishSAFE workshops and the availability of the "Safety Guidelines for Small Commercial Fishing Boats" on the FishSAFE website.

Maritime NZ considers that this recommendation has already been implemented throughout the course of launching the FishSAFE programme. As an example, please see the July 2006 edition of “Safe Seas Clean Seas” (attached) which is sent out to all vessel owners.
